Job Overview

As a Health and Safety Officer, you will be responsible for promoting a safe working environment by identifying risks, enforcing occupational health and safety (OHS) policies, and supporting training and emergency preparedness across the hotel. You will help the Head of Safety implement safety protocols and respond to hazards in a fast-paced, guest-facing hospitality environment.

What You ll Do

* Monitor working conditions and facilities to identify potential hazards and unsafe practices
* Support the Head of Safety in developing safety protocols, training plans, and audit systems
* Conduct regular risk assessments and workplace inspections across hotel areas
* Ensure staff compliance with PPE usage and hotel safety guidelines
* Stop any unsafe operations and report incidents for immediate action
* Investigate accidents or near misses to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures
* Understand hotel systems such as electrical controls, refrigeration units, and fire suppression systems
* Assist with internal safety audits and document all relevant safety procedures
* Collaborate with department heads to resolve safety concerns and ensure best practices are followed

Ideal Profile

* Minimum 2 3 years of relevant safety experience, preferably in hotels or hospitality venues
* Knowledge of occupational health standards and UAE safety regulations
* Familiarity with fire safety, basic electrical, and mechanical systems
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong observational, reporting, and analytical capabilities
* Commitment to a culture of safety and continuous improvement
* Team-oriented mindset with ability to work across departments
