Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
King s College Doha is seeking an outstanding Head of Drama to lead and develop Drama across the Mesaimeer Campus, with some teaching responsibility in KS2.
The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for the Drama department, delivering Pearson Edexcel GCSE Drama and supporting the planned introduction of A Level Drama. You will inspire pupils through innovative teaching, outstanding productions, and a forward-thinking curriculum that nurtures creativity, confidence, and academic success.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
- Provide clear vision and strategic leadership for the Drama Department.
- Inspire, mentor, and develop departmental staff through effective leadership and professional development.
- Lead curriculum planning and innovation aligned with the school s mission and future-focused learning.
- Monitor teaching and learning to ensure consistently high standards and excellent outcomes.
Teaching and Learning
- Deliver outstanding Drama teaching across Prep, Senior School and Sixth Form (with some KS2 teaching).
- Inspire pupils to achieve their full potential through engaging, challenging, and creative lessons.
- Prepare pupils for Pearson Edexcel GCSE Drama and A Level Drama through high-quality instruction.
- Integrate performance, theory, and real-world applications into teaching.
Curriculum and Department Development
- Develop innovative teaching approaches and high-quality subject-specific activities.
- Ensure strong vertical and horizontal curriculum progression.
- Analyse pupil performance data and act to secure outstanding progress.
- Engage in continuous professional development and reflective practice.
Administration and Enrichment
- Support the Head of Faculty with departmental budgeting and resource management
- Lead extracurricular activities including productions, festivals, competitions, and educational trips
- Maintain accurate assessment records and provide high-quality feedback to pupils and parents

- Excellent subject knowledge in Drama. (E)
- Minimum of two years relevant teaching experience. (E)
- Experience teaching GCSE Drama.(E)
- Recognised teaching qualification.(E)
- Strong leadership potential and organisational skills.(E)
- Experience teaching A Level Drama. (D)
- Experience working in an international or independent school. (D)
- Experience teaching pupils with English as an Additional Language. (D)
