Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Director of Finance & Accounts to lead our financial operations of our Group. This senior leadership position requires an exceptional financial professional with extensive experience in managing complex financial operations, driving strategic financial planning, and ensuring robust fiscal governance. The ideal candidate will serve as a key member of our executive leadership team, providing critical financial insight and direction to support our organization's growth objectives and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Financial Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies aligned with organizational goals, providing strategic recommendations to the stakeholders on financial matters, investments, and business expansion opportunities.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans; conduct comprehensive variance analysis and provide actionable insights to optimize financial performance and resource allocation.
  • Financial Reporting & Compliance: Oversee the preparation and timely delivery of accurate financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings; ensure full compliance with Qatar Central Bank (QCB) regulations, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and all applicable local and international accounting standards.
  • Treasury & Cash Management: Direct treasury operations including cash flow forecasting, working capital optimization, liquidity management, and banking relationships; develop and implement investment strategies to maximize returns while managing risk exposure.
  • Internal Controls & Governance: Design, implement, and maintain robust internal control frameworks, financial policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets, prevent fraud, and ensure operational efficiency; lead internal audit coordination and remediation activities.
  • Tax Planning & Optimization: Oversee all tax matters including corporate tax planning, VAT compliance, withholding tax, and transfer pricing; work closely with external tax advisors to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring full regulatory compliance in Qatar.
  • External Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strategic relationships with external auditors, banks, financial institutions, regulatory authorities, and investors; represent the organization in financial discussions and negotiations.
  • Cost Management & Profitability: Drive cost optimization initiatives, identify efficiency improvement opportunities, and implement cost control measures to enhance profitability margins without compromising operational quality.
  • Financial Systems & Technology: Lead the selection, implementation, and optimization of ERP systems, financial management software, and business intelligence tools to enhance financial reporting accuracy, efficiency, and real-time decision-making capabilities.
  • Mergers & Acquisitions: Provide financial due diligence, valuation analysis, and integration support for potential mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships that support organizational growth.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks including currency exposure, credit risk, interest rate risk, and market volatility; develop and implement comprehensive risk management frameworks.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team of 10-20+ professionals; establish clear performance objectives, provide coaching and professional development opportunities, and foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Board & Executive Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports, analysis, and recommendations to the Board of Directors, MD, and executive leadership team; participate actively in strategic planning sessions and executive decision-making processes.

Desired Candidate Profile


Educational Qualifications

  • Essential: Master's degree (MBA, or Master's in Finance/ Accounting) from a recognized university.
  • Professional Certifications Preferred: Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), or Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
  • Additional certifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) will be considered a strong advantage.

Experience Requirements

  • 15-20+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with a minimum of 7-10 years in senior leadership positions such as Finance Director, CFO, or equivalent roles.
  • Proven track record in managing comprehensive financial operations for medium to large-scale organizations with revenues exceeding QAR 200 million.
  • Extensive experience in the Qatar market or broader GCC region, with demonstrated knowledge of local business practices, regulatory requirements, and commercial law.
  • Substantial experience in industries such as logistics, B2B services, manufacturing, trading, or contracting sectors in Qatar.
  • Experience managing multi-entity or multi-location financial operations is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in leading finance teams through organizational growth, system implementations, and transformation initiatives.
