Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize greenhouse structures, considering factors like climate control, energy efficiency, and plant requirements to maximize crop yield and quality.
  • Develop and implement advanced irrigation and fertigation systems, ensuring precise nutrient delivery and water management for optimal plant growth and resource conservation.
  • Oversee the integration of environmental control systems (HVAC, lighting, CO2 enrichment) to maintain ideal conditions for plant health and productivity.
  • Manage and train greenhouse staff on operational procedures, best practices, and safety protocols to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation related to greenhouse operations, design projects, and research findings.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agricultural Engineering, Horticulture, or a related field, providing a strong foundation in relevant principles.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in greenhouse or protected agriculture, demonstrating practical knowledge of operational and technical aspects.
  • Proven experience in designing and managing greenhouse environmental control systems (HVAC, lighting, CO2 enrichment), showcasing technical expertise.
  • Strong understanding of irrigation and fertigation systems, including design, installation, and maintenance, emphasizing water and nutrient management.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and interpretation, using sensor data to optimize growing conditions and improve crop yields, demonstrating analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines, highlighting organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, enabling collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders, fostering a positive work environment.
