Generator Technician

Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on diesel generators of various brands and capacities.

• Diagnose faults in diesel engines, alternators, AC/DC electrical circuits, wiring harnesses, and control panels.

• Conduct load tests, assess generator performance, and ensure compliance with required operating parameters.

• Replace and repair components such as radiators, fuel lift pumps, hoses, belts, crank seals, starters, and electrical alternators.

• Execute high-voltage cable installations, grounding procedures, and ensure strict adherence to electrical safety standards.

• Handle refueling operations, oil changes, coolant checks, and filter replacements.

• Maintain spare parts inventory, request required items, and ensure proper usage of tools and PPE.

• Prepare and maintain service reports, maintenance logs, and documentation as per company or project standards.

• Support power distribution teams in connecting generators to electrical panels and distribution systems.

• Respond to emergency generator breakdowns, conduct fast troubleshooting, and restore operations quickly.

• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and generator mechanisms

• Hands-on experience with fault diagnostics and testing equipment

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, electrical diagrams, and shop drawings

• Understanding of voltage, amperage, frequency, and power factor calculations

• Knowledge of LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and workplace safety procedures

• Competence in mechanical repairs, component replacement, and system overhauls

• Effective communication, time management, and teamwork abilities
