General Construction Foreman

Main Duties

• Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities on site.
• Assign tasks and monitor the work of laborers, subcontractors, and tradespeople.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Ensure work is carried out according to project plans, safety standards, and quality requirements.
• Monitor progress and provide daily/weekly reports to the Project Manager.
• Inspect work to identify potential issues and resolve them promptly.
• Maintain inventory of materials and request supplies as needed.
• Enforce compliance with safety rules and regulations on-site.
• Train and mentor junior workers and ensure team productivity.
• Coordinate with engineers, site supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow.

Qualifications

Education Minimum of a high school diploma; bachelor's degree in a related field or diploma in a skilled trade is a plus.

At least 12 years of experience in construction, with Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and safety regulations.

Technical knowledge, skills & abilities required:

• Proven experience as construction foreman.
• Strong understanding of construction processes.
• Good knowledge of safety regulations and building codes.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and blueprints.
• Familiarity with project management concepts, principles, and tools.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with web browsing and research.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
