Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all financial accounting operations for real estate properties, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of property-level financial data, identifying and investigating any discrepancies or unusual trends.
  • Manage and reconcile bank accounts, ensuring accurate recording of all transactions related to real estate investments.
  • Prepare and file property tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate submissions to relevant authorities.
  • Collaborate with property managers to understand and address financial issues, providing insightful recommendations.
  • Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process, providing financial analysis and support to the real estate team.
  • Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate depreciation calculations and asset tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant real estate accounting regulations and internal controls.
  • Assist with audits, providing necessary documentation and support to external auditors.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, providing a strong foundation in financial principles.
  • Holds a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar professional certification, demonstrating expertise and commitment.
  • Exhibits a deep understanding of real estate accounting principles, including property management and investment accounting.
  • Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling effective identification and resolution of financial issues.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Exhibits a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring the integrity of financial data.
  • Displays strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
