Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Management Develop and implement the gallery's annual strategy, exhibition plan, and programming calendar. Lead and supervise the gallery team, ensuring effective coordination across curatorial, administrative, commercial, and technical functions. Oversee all operational aspects of the gallery, including budgeting, procurement, scheduling, maintenance, and compliance with institutional policies. Curatorial Direction Conceptualize, plan, and execute exhibitions and public programs that highlight artistic and cultural relevance, particularly reflecting local and regional identity within a global context. Select and work closely with artists, curators, and institutions to develop exhibitions and collaborative projects. Oversee research, exhibition design, installation, and interpretation to ensure quality and creativity in all displays and experiences. Commercial Development & Artwork Sales Develop and manage strategies for the commercial sales of artworks, including pricing, consignment, artist agreements, and client relationships. Identify and cultivate relationships with collectors, buyers, and art investors to promote and sell artworks represented by the gallery. Ensure transparent and professional management of sales processes, documentation, and financial transactions in compliance with institutional and legal standards. Oversee marketing and communications teams to enhance the visibility and market reach of artists and exhibitions. Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement Build and maintain strong relationships with artists, collectors, cultural institutions, sponsors, and community partners. Represent the gallery at professional and public events, media engagements, and cultural forums. Support partnership initiatives to enhance the gallery's visibility and sustainability. Visitor Experience & Community Engagement Ensure that the gallery provides an outstanding and inclusive visitor experience. Develop education, outreach, and engagement programs to strengthen the gallery's cultural impact within the community. Monitor visitor feedback and continuously improve exhibition quality and service standards. Financial & Administrative Oversight Prepare and manage annual budgets, project costs, and financial reports in coordination with the finance department. Ensure efficient use of resources and compliance with financial and operational procedures.
