Your main missions and activities:

On-premises and Azure database management: Manage and maintain SQL databases hosted on on-premises environments and in cloud infrastructures (IaaS instances and managed instances), ensuring their performance, health, and security.

Database Design and Optimization: Collaborate with technical teams to design, implement, and optimize database structures, whether deployed on internal or cloud infrastructures.

Performance Monitoring: Provide continuous monitoring of database performance across platforms, identify performance issues, and provide timely and effective solutions.

Backup and Recovery Procedures: Establish and manage data backup, recovery, and recovery procedures across on-premises and cloud databases to ensure data availability and security.

Maintenance in operational condition: guarantee the availability and performance of systems by applying preventive and corrective maintenance plans.

Capacity Planning: Planning the capacity needed for infrastructure.

Participation in evolution projects and cross-functional projects: involvement in infrastructure projects in collaboration with the systems, networks, virtualization teams, as well as other departments.

Innovation: Delivering innovative solutions to specific database management challenges, whether in traditional on-premises environments or cloud architectures.

Incident Management: Address and resolve complex database incidents, minimizing downtime across hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud).

Documentation: formalization and updating of technical documents related to infrastructure, backup procedures, disaster recovery plans (DRPs), etc.

Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of database management practices across on-premises and cloud environments, ensuring operational efficiency and security.

Skills required:

Advanced expertise in SQL database administration (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL or others) on-premises and in cloud environments (IaaS and managed instances).

Solid knowledge of designing, optimizing and troubleshooting databases on hybrid infrastructures.

Experience in managing data backup, recovery and recovery procedures in cloud and on-premise environments.

Proficiency in data security best practices and compliance policies in cloud and on-premises environments.

Ability to solve complex technical problems and provide robust solutions.

Strong analytical and communication skills to document and present technical solutions.

Methodical: rigor in managing tasks and processes, as well as in solving problems.

Proficiency in technical English: to communicate with suppliers, support and consult documentation in English.

Security awareness: ability to identify and anticipate data security risks.

ITIL knowledge: A good command of ITIL best practices (incident, problem, change management, etc.) is essential.

Qualifications:

Certifications related to databases (Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, or equivalent) and cloud technologies (Azure specifically) are an asset.

Experience with database management and monitoring tools in cloud and on-premises environments.
