Roles & Responsibilities
Job Description & Responsibilities * The Steel Foreman is expected to have experience in static equipment and piping maintenance and overhauling works, including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, boilers, heaters, storage tanks, separators, piping, and pipelines.
* Perform installation activities for various equipment and piping at plant locations. Oversee preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance tasks at plant area. Assign tasks to steel subordinates and monitor progress on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
* Ensure timely completion of work as per maintenance /Overhauling schedules. Ensure adherence to maintenance specifications, integrity recommendations, and timelines. Inspect steel-related equipment and piping for accuracy and quality.
* Verify alignment, dimensions, and welding standards as per approved drawings and procedures. Enforce safety protocols for lifting, welding, and cutting operations in live plant environments. Prepare risk assessments for budget-related works.
* Ensure proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as per site & HSE requirements. Check availability of required materials and tools for PM/CM/BM activities. Coordinate with procurement for timely material supply and delivery.
* Maintain inventory records and ensure proper stock management with the warehouse. Maintain daily work logs and progress reports update supervisors and section heads of the steel section. Report issues, delays, or material shortages related to overhauling and maintenance works.
* Train and guide steel subordinates on technical tasks and problem-solving. Resolve on-site issues and maintain discipline with coworkers and others. Motivate the team to achieve productivity targets as per the given schedule.
* Ensure effective coordination and monitoring of supporting staff to facilitate timely completion of tasks as per required Quality and HSE standards. Assign patrolling duties at sites as per site requirements /instructions.
* Inspect and monitor the physical condition of tanks, pressure vessel, piping, clamp supports, and various valves.
Key Skills:
1. Strong understanding of piping systems, fabrication techniques, and site execution, with proficiency in technical documentation, including isometric drawings and material tracking.
2. Familiarity with project management tools and reporting formats.
3. Ability to interpret and apply engineering standards and specifications.
4. Knowledge of HSE practices and quality control procedures.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.
7. Ability to use email and digital communication tools effectively for coordination and reporting.
8. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills with colleagues and subordinates.
