Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Site Supervision & Leadership: Lead and manage a team of workers, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing training to ensure high-quality workmanship and productivity.
- Project Execution: Oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring that project milestones and deadlines are met. This includes planning daily work schedules and coordinating with other teams and subcontractors.
- Safety Management: Enforce strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. Conduct regular safety briefings, identify potential hazards, and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment.
- Quality Control: Inspect the work in progress to ensure it complies with engineering drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards. Address any discrepancies or issues promptly to avoid rework.
- Resource Management: Monitor the use of materials, equipment, and labor on site to prevent waste and optimize resource allocation. Report on any shortages or excessive use of resources.
- Problem-Solving: Proactively identify and resolve on-site issues, such as unforeseen technical challenges or logistical problems, to prevent project delays.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate daily reports on work progress, resource usage, and site conditions. Communicate regularly with the Project Manager and Site Engineer about project status and challenges.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a technical diploma in civil or mechanical engineering is a plus.
- Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a construction environment, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
Proven experience in managing a workforce on infrastructure, road, or civil construction projects. - Skills:
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
In-depth knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and equipment.
Excellent understanding of construction site safety regulations and best practices.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical drawings.
Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure.
Fluent in spoken English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
