Roles & Responsibilities

  • Job Profile
  • The Fleet Technician - Electrician is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems in CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) transport vehicles and related fleet equipment. This role ensures operational efficiency, safety compliance, and minimal downtime by performing advanced diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on electrical and electronic systems.
  • Responsibilities
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical faults in CNG trucks, trailers, and related fleet equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on wiring, batteries, alternators, starters, lighting systems, and control modules.
  • Troubleshoot and repair CAN bus systems, telematics, and onboard diagnostics (OBD) systems.
  • Install, test, and maintain electrical components such as relays, fuses, sensors, and switches.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE safety regulations and company standards.
  • Use diagnostic tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, scan tools) to identify electrical issues.
  • Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals for accurate repairs.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to resolve complex electrical failures.
  • Maintain accurate service records using fleet management software.
  • Adhere to hazardous material (HAZMAT) handling procedures for CNG vehicles.
  • Follow electrical safety protocols (lockout/tagout, PPE usage).
  • Ensure all work complies with UAE traffic and transport regulations.
  • Report safety hazards and incidents promptly.
  • Recommend upgrades for electrical systems to improve reliability.
  • Stay updated on emerging EV/CNG vehicle technologies.
  • Train junior technicians on best practices.
  • Qualification
  • Diploma or ITI in Automotive Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Familiarity with CAN bus systems and OBD diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of battery management systems (BMS).
  • Understanding of wiring harness repair and crimping techniques.
  • Familiarity with Alternator/Starter motor overhaul.
  • Awareness of electrical safety standards (ISO, NFPA, UAE regulations)
  • Experience
  • Minimum 5 years as an automotive electrician, preferably in heavy trucking fleets. Experience with high-voltage systems (preferred).
  • Familiarity with telematics and fleet management systems.
