Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Maintain accurate records of all fixed assets (e.g., property, equipment, machinery) in the company's asset register. Ensure proper tracking, tagging, and categorization of fixed assets.
Move the monthly capital expenditure to Assets under Construction and keep close watch on periodic basis on its movement and liaison with the concerned department for updates.
Review the documentation presented by Proponent Departments and approve the capitalization of new assets in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
Process the disposal, transfer, or write-off of fixed assets as necessary, ensuring compliance with company policies. Track and report on gains or losses from asset disposals and ensure proper documentation.
1. Ensure adherence to internal controls related to fixed
assets accounting. Ensure compliance with accounting policies, tax laws, and auditing requirements. Support external auditors and Ministry auditors with any information or documentation related to fixed assets during audits.
Desired Candidate Profile
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CA (Chartered
Accountant) or CMA or ACCA is strongly preferred.
• Previous experience (typically10-12 years) in accounting, with a focus on fixed assets or
related areas a minimum of 3-5 years.
• Knowledge of fixed asset accounting principles, depreciation methods, and asset lifecycle
management.
• Proficiency in accounting software SAP ERP and Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with tax laws and financial reporting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
