Position Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Fitness Motivator / Junior Fitness Instructor to join our team. This role is perfect for individuals with a passion for health and fitness who want to inspire and support members on their fitness journey. No formal qualifications are required just a great attitude, excellent people skills, and a willingness to learn.
As a Fitness Motivator / Junior Fitness Instructor, you will be the friendly face of our gym, ensuring all members feel welcome, supported, and encouraged. You will assist with customer service, maintaining the gym environment, and providing basic fitness guidance. This role also offers a structured pathway for career progression, with the opportunity to be trained and developed into a qualified Fitness Instructor and eventually a Personal Trainer.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and interact with members, creating a positive and motivating atmosphere.
- Proactively engage with members on the gym floor, offering encouragement and answering general fitness-related queries.
- Assist new members with equipment induction and basic gym etiquette.
- Promote fitness classes, personal training services, and other gym offerings.
- Ensure the gym is clean, safe, and well-maintained, including re-racking weights and tidying equipment.
- Monitor the gym floor, providing assistance to members where needed.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to the management team.
- Participate in internal training sessions to develop fitness knowledge and customer service skills.
- Work towards completing relevant fitness qualifications (Level 2 Fitness Instructor, Level 3 Personal Trainer).
- Shadow experienced trainers and instructors to gain hands-on experience.
- Assist with gym events, challenges, and promotions.
- Provide support at the front desk when needed.
- Uphold health and safety standards at all times.
Skills & Experience:
Essential:
- A friendly, approachable, and enthusiastic personality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for fitness, health, and helping others.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Proactive and customer-focused mindset.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a customer service, hospitality, or retail role.
- Experience using a gym or participating in fitness activities.
- Interest in pursuing a fitness career.
