Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Fishmonger to join our hypermarket team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, displaying, and selling fresh seafood while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, quality, and customer service.

  • Clean, cut, and prepare various types of fish and seafood according to customer preferences and store standards.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and display of seafood products to maintain freshness and quality.
  • Advise customers on seafood selection, cooking methods, and portion sizes.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist in ordering inventory as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the seafood section, adhering to food safety regulations.
  • Assist in pricing, labeling, and merchandising of seafood products.
  • Collaborate with the team to meet sales targets and enhance customer satisfaction.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience as a fishmonger or in a seafood handling role.
  • Knowledge of different fish species and seafood preparation techniques.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Physical ability to work in cold environments and handle heavy items.
  • Certification in food handling or HACCP is a plus.
  • Experience in a hypermarket or large-scale retail environment.
