Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Purpose

To design, review, and supervise fire protection systems in compliance with UAE Civil Defense regulations and international codes. Ensure safety standards, quality control, and effective project execution in fire protection engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Engineering
    Prepare and review fire protection system designs (sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, fire pumps, suppression systems, etc.) according to UAE Civil Defense and international standards (NFPA, BS, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code).
    Conduct hydraulic calculations, pump sizing, and system layouts using industry software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, HASS, Elite Fire).
    Prepare BOQs, specifications, and technical submittals for client and authority approval.
  • Regulatory Compliance
    Ensure designs meet UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, NFPA, BS, and local Civil Defense requirements.
    Coordinate with UAE Civil Defense for approvals, inspections, and final NOC (No Objection Certificate).
    Update designs as per code revisions and new authority requirements.
  • Project Supervision
    Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of fire protection systems.
    Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
    Prepare reports for progress, inspections, and compliance audits.
  • Coordination & Documentation
    Collaborate with MEP, HVAC, and architectural teams for system integration.
    Manage authority submissions and approval processes.
    Prepare operation & maintenance manuals, as-built drawings, and final documentation for handover.

Key Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, NFPA, BS, FM Global, and other international fire protection standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, HASS, Elite Fire, and MS Office.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm system integration and interface with suppression systems.
  • Strong understanding of authority approval procedures (UAE Civil Defense).

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Fire Protection Engineering.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in Fire Fighting Engineering in the UAE.
  • Valid UAE driving license preferred.
  • Familiarity with authority approval processes (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah Civil Defense).
