Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
They are seeking a Finance Manager that will be responsible for managing the financial operations (including financial accounting, management reporting, regulatory reporting, planning, & budgeting, taxation, payments and controls), while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth and profitability.
Operates in a dynamic environment characterized by diverse local regulations, various types of taxations, and an evolving redeployment of accounting policies towards full application of international accounting standards (IFRS); thus requiring multi-jurisdictional knowledge, in addition to in-depth familiarity with groups corporate policies and procedures.
The job holder needs to continuously interact with senior management both locally and with other Groups & Divisions in the Head Office.
Key Result Areas
- Financial Reporting: Prepare/Review and present accurate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Regulatory reporting & Compliance: Ensure compliance with DIFC and DFSA reporting and regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
- Investment Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and due diligence on potential investments and provide recommendations to senior management.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring robust internal controls are in place.
- Audit Coordination: Liaise with external auditors and manage the audit process.
- Taxation: Manage tax planning and compliance, ensuring timely and accurate filing of tax returns and adherence to local tax regulations (including VAT).
- Management Reporting: Prepare and present management reports to provide insights into financial performance and support strategic decision-making.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to support financial decision-making and provide financial insights.
- Problem Solving: Manage complex business requirements including new products and structures within the boundaries of IFRS while compliant with local regulations, with efficient and accurate maintenance of accounting records for the production of MIS, regulatory reporting, and other requirements, including tax issues.
- Decision Making Authority & Responsibility:
- Responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounts in the entity.
- Responsible for all internal and external audit and financial statements
- Responsible for all regulatory filings DFSA returns and other regulatory returns
- Responsible for efficient tax planning to maximize profitability and all tax return filings corporate tax and VAT
- Responsible for completion of special projects assigned / undertaken from time to time
- Ensure all financial activities comply with DIFC and DFSA regulations, and take necessary actions to address any compliance issues
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A professional qualification such as CPA, CFA, or ACCA is highly desirable.
- 7 to 10 years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 3 years in a role within the asset management industry.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, investment analysis, and advanced Excel skills. Familiarity with financial software and ERP systems.
- In-depth understanding of DIFC and DFSA regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely to senior management and stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
