Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Availability
Be available during the respective shifts.
Respond promptly to emergency calls from patients, families, or caregivers. - Patient Assessment
Assess patient condition over phone or video.
Decide whether the issue can be managed at home or needs urgent medical attention. - Emergency Response
Provide immediate nursing guidance in emergencies.
Coordinate emergency services or hospital admission when required. - Clinical Support
Guide caregivers on medication administration, wound care, catheter care, injections, etc.
Handle symptom management (pain, breathlessness, fever, nausea). - Care Coordination
Communicate with doctors, supervisors, and home care team.
Arrange urgent home visits or shift replacements if needed. - Medication Management
Clarify medication orders.
Handle missed doses, side effects, or medication errors. - Documentation
Record all calls, assessments, advice given, and actions taken.
Update patient records accurately. - Patient & Family Education
Reassure and educate patients/families during stressful situations.
Provide clear instructions for home care. - Policy & Protocol Compliance
Follow clinical guidelines, safety standards, and ethical practices.
Maintain patient confidentiality at all times. - Quality & Safety Monitoring
- Identify potential risks or complications.
- Escalate concerns to appropriate healthcare professionals.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Qualification: BSc Nursing (mandatory)
- License: DHA Eligibility mandatory
- Experience:
Minimum 1–3 years of clinical experience
Experience in home care, emergency care, ICU, or medical-surgical nursing preferred - Clinical Skills:
Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
Knowledge of emergency procedures and basic life support (BLS)
Experience in medication administration, wound care, catheter care, and injections - Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal communication skills
Ability to explain medical instructions clearly to patients and caregivers
Calm and empathetic approach during emergencies - Availability:
Willingness to work on-call shifts (8 hours a day)
Ability to respond quickly to urgent situations - Personal Attributes:
Responsible, reliable, and patient-focused
Ability to work independently and handle pressure
Good problem-solving skills - Technical Skills:
Basic computer knowledge for documentation
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) is an advantage - Language Skills:
Proficiency in English
Knowledge of local language preferred
