Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the site technical authority for all field piping-related issues, ensuring work is carried out in accordance with Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings and project specifications.
  • Review piping design documents including isometrics, P&IDs, general arrangement drawings, support drawings, and material specifications.
  • Supervise and monitor the installation of:
    • Process and utility piping systems
    • Aboveground and underground piping
    • High-pressure and critical service lines
    • Pipe supports, valves, and inline components
  • Coordinate resolution of technical queries (TQs), site modifications, and field design changes.
  • Interface with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure correct materials and drawings are available at site.
  • Support material take-off (MTO) verification, pipe fit-up, welding, NDT, and pressure testing.
  • Oversee compliance with ASME, API, ANSI, and other relevant piping codes and standards.
  • Assist QA/QC with inspection activities, hydrotesting, and walk-downs.
  • Track installation progress and support system completion, punch list clearance, and handover to commissioning.
  • Review and approve red-line markups and ensure as-built documentation is accurately updated.

Desired Candidate Profile

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Piping Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 8-12 years of experience as a Field Piping Engineer in the Oil & Gas, Refinery, or Petrochemical sector.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Piping construction and erection practices
    • Pipe welding (SMAW, GTAW, etc.) and associated testing procedures
    • Piping layout and isometric interpretation
  • Familiarity with ASME B31.3, ASME B31.1, API, ANSI, and applicable international standards.
  • Experience with piping supports, pipe stress considerations, and expansion loops is a plus.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Navisworks, and MS Office tools.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
