Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Preparation of Installation Procedures:

    • Develop installation procedures per internal guidelines and client requirements, emphasizing safety.
    • Procedures must detail methods, sequence of work, installation aids, and consumables needed.
  • Risk Assessment and Communication:
    • Actively engage in project Task Risk Assessments and implement findings.
  • Technical Recommendations:
    • Suggest improvements to technical details and drawings for safer installation procedures.
  • Document Management:
    • Review project drawings and documents, reporting discrepancies to the Principal Operations Engineer.
    • Maintain project files in compliance with project requirements.
  • Loadout and Transportation Planning:
    • Create loadout and sea fastening plans for safe and timely material/structure transportation.
    • Prepare material lists and coordinate with the Procurement Coordinator for procurement needs.
  • Engineering Support:
    • Prepare Design Input Overview for Construction Support Engineering and manage engineering closeout.
    • Draft Work Orders for fabrication of installation aids and oversee their completion.
  • Coordination with Departments:
    • Work with Marine Operations, E&M, and Diving departments to ensure readiness of equipment and personnel.
    • Coordinate with Production Engineers to verify loadouts and ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Offshore Liaison:
    • Communicate with customer and subcontractor representatives at offshore sites and provide technical guidance.
    • Assist Vessel Superintendent and Supervisors with planning and execution, including issuing field sketches and checklists.
  • Technical Problem Resolution:
    • Participate in resolving technical issues during offshore installation and formulate corrective action plans.
  • Procurement Management:
    • Oversee material procurement and installation aids, including preparation of requisitions and business cases for major items.
  • Subcontractor Oversight:
    • Prepare subcontract scopes of work and evaluate technical proposals, managing operational aspects of the assigned subcontract.
  • Compliance Assurance:
    • Ensure all work adheres to company policies and procedures.
  • Post-Job Reporting:
    • Prepare Post-Job Reports and compile as-built documentation as per contract requirements.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Undertake any other relevant tasks as assigned by the Operations Engineer or Vessel Superintendent/OCM.

Marine Operations Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for field personnel regarding engineering challenges.
  • Monitor on-site work quality, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders for efficient project execution.
  • Review structural designs and geotechnical reports for compliance with quality standards.
  • Prepare/review method statements and oversee construction timelines and budgets.
  • Implement HSE and quality policies, conducting safety meetings and inspections.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation, including field reports and daily logs.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies in construction activities.
  • Identify discrepancies in project documents and manage the engineering deliverables schedule.
  • Lead the creation of installation documentation and ensure procurement compliance.
  • Provide engineering support for project and procurement subcontracting.
  • Prepare presentations on offshore construction techniques for reviews and assessments.
  • Act as a primary contact for technical queries during construction and inspection activities.
  • Manage construction schedules and communication with various managerial roles.

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum 5 years of experience in Marine Field Engineering

Offshore Experience is Mandatory

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant engineering field.

7-10 years of experience in Engineering, particularly offshore.

Experience in the Oil & Gas sector is advantageous.

Ability to work offshore on a rotational basis (minimum 60 to 90 days).


Required certifications:

  • OGUK Medicals
  • offshore medical fitness
  • TBOSIET/BOSIET
  • H2S, and optionally EPTW and E-CPW.

Preferrable: Candidates with Qatar Permit or immediate joiners
