Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Act as the site technical focal point for pipeline engineering and construction activities.
  • Interpret and implement Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings, alignment sheets, isometrics, material take-offs (MTOs), and specifications.
  • Monitor and supervise field installation of:
    • Cross-country pipelines / flowlines / trunklines
    • Pipeline stringing, welding, NDT, coating, trenching, lowering, and backfilling
    • Valve stations, scraper traps, tie-ins, and crossings (e.g., road, rail, river, HDD)
  • Coordinate with design offices, vendors, and subcontractors to resolve technical queries (TQs), field changes, and interface issues.
  • Ensure construction activities comply with project specifications, pipeline codes (API 5L, ASME B31.4 / B31.8), and HSE regulations.
  • Assist QA/QC teams with inspection and testing activities including:
    • Weld inspections (NDT, hydrotest)
    • Coating inspections
    • Pigging, flushing, drying, and pre-commissioning
  • Maintain as-built documentation, red-line drawings, and technical reports.
  • Participate in field walkdowns, punch list preparation and clearance, and system handover to commissioning/operations.
  • Monitor contractor work progress, interface coordination, and material availability.
  • Support environmental protection and right-of-way (ROW) compliance in field execution.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Pipeline, or Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 8-12 years of field experience in pipeline construction in Oil & Gas or related industries.
  • Hands-on knowledge of pipeline construction techniques, welding processes, hydrotesting, and pre-commissioning.
  • Familiar with international pipeline design and construction codes: API, ASME, DNV, etc.
  • Experience with HDD, thrust boring, and special crossings is preferred.
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, and route maps.
  • Competent in using MS Office, AutoCAD, and relevant engineering documentation systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.
