Roles & Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as the primary site representative for all electrical engineering activities, supporting smooth execution and alignment with design documentation.
  • Review and interpret Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and load lists.
  • Oversee installation, inspection, and testing of electrical systems including:
    • Transformers, switchgears, MCCs
    • Power and control cabling
    • Lighting and small power systems
    • Earthing and lightning protection systems
    • Motors, UPS, battery systems, and HVAC electrical interfaces
  • Coordinate with design teams, vendors, and construction contractors
    to resolve technical issues, field changes, and material compatibility.
  • Respond to technical queries (TQs) and manage RFIs related to electrical scope.
  • Monitor electrical construction activities to ensure compliance with project standards, drawings, and specifications.
  • Supervise pre-commissioning and commissioning activities including megger tests, hi-pot tests, loop checks, and function tests.
  • Ensure all electrical installations meet safety requirements, including compliance with hazardous area classifications (ATEX, IECEx).
  • Update and maintain as-built documentation, red-line markups, and test records.
  • Support in field walk-downs, punch list closure, and system handover to commissioning or operations teams.
  • Collaborate with QA/QC, HSE, and project control teams for documentation, inspections, and progress tracking.

Desired Candidate Profile

We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient Electrical Field Engineer to support site activities and ensure proper coordination between design, procurement, and construction teams in an Oil & Gas project environment. The role will be responsible for the implementation, supervision, and inspection of electrical systems installation, pre-commissioning, and handover, ensuring compliance with project requirements, international codes, and site safety standards.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 8-12 years of experience in electrical field engineering in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Power sector.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems in medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV) ranges.
  • Familiarity with international standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, NEMA, API).
  • Hands-on experience with electrical installation and testing practices.
  • Proficient in using design review tools and MS Office; exposure to AutoCAD, Navisworks, or ETAP is beneficial.
  • Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
