Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee planting, harvesting, and cultivation of crops and trees.
  • Monitor and control the IPM programs.
  • Oversee and repair farm machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure proper upkeep of farm buildings, fences, and infrastructure.
  • Develop and manage the farm budget, including expenses and revenue projections.
  • Monitor and control costs to maximize profitability.
  • Hire, train, and supervise farm staff, workers and laborers.
  • Delegate tasks and ensure efficient workflow.
  • Maintain accurate records of crop yields, and entire farm production.
  • Use data to make informed decisions about farm operations.
  • Implement sustainable farming practices to protect the environment and natural resources.
  • Ensure compliance with local environmental regulations.
  • Enforce safety protocols to protect farm workers and visitors.
  • Ensure compliance with agricultural regulations and standards.
  • Identify and address issues related to crop diseases, equipment breakdowns, and other challenges.
  • Make quick and effective decisions to mitigate risks.
  • Provide regular reports to the Farms Director regarding all farm operations and progress. Additionally, if any potential areas for improvement or upgrades are identified, should be make appropriately recommended.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture, agribusiness, or a related field (depending on the farm's size and complexity).
  • Practical experience in farming operations, with a preference for prior managerial roles.
  • Strong knowledge of crop cultivation, Date palms and olives farming, and farm equipment.
  • Familiarity with sustainable farming practices and environmental regulations.
  • Financial acumen and budget management skills.
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills for managing farm workers.
  • Problem-solving abilities and adaptability.
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Knowledge of market trends and sales negotiation (for marketing-oriented farms).
