Facade Structural Engineer

1. Structural Design & Analysis

• Perform structural calculations for unitized curtain wall, stick systems, ACP, steel, aluminium, glass faades, canopies, skylights, and other faade elements.
  
• Use engineering judgment to optimize mullions, transoms, brackets, anchors, frames, and fixings.
  
• Develop structural load assessments including wind load, dead load, live load, seismic load, and thermal movement.
  
• Validate design safety based on Eurocodes, BS codes, ASTM, AAMA, EN, and local authority requirements.
  

2. Technical Review & Engineering Outputs

• Review tender drawings, concept designs, and specifications to identify risks and design requirements.
  
• Prepare engineering reports, calculation sheets, and design reviews for internal and client submissions.
  
• Support shop drawing team to ensure dimensional accuracy and structural feasibility.
  
• Validate material selection (aluminium alloy, steel grade, glass thickness, gasket, sealants).
  

3. Coordination & Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with design, production, QA/QC, and installation teams to resolve technical issues.
  
• Coordinate with external consultants, faade specialists, structural engineers, and architects.
  
• Participate in meetings, site visits, and technical workshops.
  

4. Testing & Compliance

• Support performance mock-up tests (PMU), structural tests, and water/air infiltration tests.
  
• Ensure compliance with international faade standards and local authority requirements.
  
• Provide technical approvals during procurement and manufacturing stages.
  

5. Value Engineering & Innovation

• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, structural optimization, and engineering efficiency.
  
• Propose innovative faade solutions while maintaining structural strength and safety.
