Expert System Maintenance Technician Thales

MAIN TASKS:

Supports the deployment of the Air Defense System with the team by:

• Evaluating performance of radar and C2 equipment.
• Performing intermediate level maintenance in his specialty as required.
• Providing support to the MTSD (Maintenance & Technical Support Depot) engineers echnicians in the field with any maintenance involving troubleshooting and repair of the radar and C2 systems to ensure the operability of the systems.
• Diagnosis and isolates complex electronic problems between the hardware, software and Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) using a variety of electronic repair and fault isolation procedures such as system diagnostics, unit self-checks, BITE, and tools and test equipment.
• Log-book follow up and reporting.
• Inspection and periodic reporting of equipment serviceability.
• Supporting Mobile Maintenance Team (MMT) functions and travel to remote sites to perform software maintenance, troubleshooting and On the Job Training (OJT).

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Senior Technician diploma in Electro-mechanics / Electricity
• Specialized training and certification in each area of expertise with Radars or/and C2 in general.
• You speak English (French & Arabic are an advantage) with excellent communication and interpersonal relationship management skills

EXPERIENCE

• Specialized knowledge and at least 3-5 years experience in the area of ground high power 3-D radar sensors and associated equipment, including all system hardware and software elements.
• A minimum of 3-5 years experience on Radar or/and C2 systems.
• Theoretical and practical knowledge and experience with radar and/or C2 operation & maintenance.
• The technical knowhow should include Antennas, Processors, computers, monitoring, data transmission, plot extractors, power systems and other sub systems associated.
• Experience in troubleshooting and repair of electronic circuits by visual inspection or by use of diagnostic software or test equipment.
• Experience in the use of test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, power meters, and signal and pulse generators to test, tune, align, adjust, calibrate, and troubleshoot communication equipment.
• Experience in a complex environment (multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary, matrix organization, customer interactions, etc)
