Job Description

An Event Operations Manager is a pivotal role in the success of any event, conference, or gathering. This professional is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of an event run smoothly from inception to completion. The Event Operations Manager works closely with event planners, vendors, staff, and clients to coordinate logistics and operations. They must possess excellent organizational skills to handle multiple tasks at once, have the ability to problem-solve on the spot, and maintain calmness under pressure. Their ultimate goal is to deliver a seamless event experience that meets or exceeds the expectations of clients and attendees. The Event Operations Manager must also have strong communication and leadership abilities to effectively manage teams and liaise between different stakeholders.


Responsibilities
  • Plan and oversee all logistical aspects of events from start to finish.
  • Ensure event compliance with health, safety, and legal regulations.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their event vision and goals.
  • Supervise and direct the activities of event staff and volunteers.
  • Manage vendor relationships and coordinate third-party services for events.
  • Develop and track budgets for various event operations and logistics.
  • Conduct risk assessments and create contingency plans for potential issues.
  • Oversee setup, execution, and breakdown of event venues and spaces.
  • Analyze post-event evaluations to identify areas for improvement.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers for favorable terms.
  • Ensure efficient on-site problem-solving during event execution.
  • Provide regular updates and feedback to clients during event planning stages.

Requirements
  • Bachelor s degree in event management, hospitality, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in event management or operations is essential.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with various stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in budgeting and financial tracking for events and operations.
  • Proficiency in event management software and strong computer skills required.
