Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

This includes overseeing a team of estimators, providing guidance, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all cost estimates.
Establishing and refining standardized estimation methodologies, tools and processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Thoroughly reviewing project plans, specifications, and other relevant documentation to identify scope, requirements, and potential risks.
Creating comprehensive cost estimates for all aspects of the EPC project, including materials, labour, equipment, subcontractors, and indirect costs.
Identifying potential cost overruns, delays, and other risks, and developing mitigation strategies.
Working closely with project managers, engineers, procurement specialists, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure alignment on cost estimates.
Co-ordinates with other departments for specialist advice and the timely availability of proposals regarding design, work methods and equipment to be used, including schedules
Preparing and presenting detailed cost estimates and proposals to senior management and clients, effectively communicating the rationale behind the estimates.
Providing guidance and mentorship to junior estimators, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and best practices.
Keeping abreast of the latest cost estimation techniques, software, and industry best practices.
Reviewing and negotiating subcontractor proposals and managing subcontract agreements.
Prepares and defends the final tender value as an advice to the Sales Manager/ Regional Manager and ensures timely submittal of the tender on the basis thereof.
Performs any other related duties as assigned.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil or Mechanical).
With Extensive experience (10+ years) in cost estimation, with a strong focus on large-scale Oil & Gas EPC projects.
Proven expertise in EPC cost estimating methodologies, including quantity take-offs, pricing, and risk analysis.
Deep understanding of Oil & Gas industry standards, regulations, and practices, including upstream, midstream, and downstream operations.
With experience with industry-standard cost estimating software
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams and effectively communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve cost-related issues.
