Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough analysis of project plans and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates.
  • Maintain organized and detailed records of estimates, revisions, and project specifications for future reference.
  • Assist in post-project evaluations to assess the accuracy of estimates and identify areas for improvement.
  • Utilize estimating software and tools to streamline the estimation process and enhance accuracy.
  • Review and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring they align with project requirements and budget.
  • Continuously monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations to adjust estimates and maintain competitiveness.
  • Prepare detailed bid proposals and present findings to clients and stakeholders, effectively communicating value propositions.
  • Identify and quantify all necessary materials, labor, and overhead costs associated with projects.
  • Utilize historical data and industry benchmarks to generate competitive pricing strategies that meet company goals.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to clarify project scope and timelines, ensuring alignment on expectations.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or similar are highly desirable.
  • Experience with both commercial and residential projects, showcasing versatility in various estimating scenarios.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in estimating within the construction industry is essential.
  • Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, Timberline, or similar tools is required.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and present estimates clearly.
  • Strong analytical skills, with a keen ability to interpret complex project documents and specifications.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a critical eye for accuracy and potential cost-saving opportunities.
