Job Description

An Estimator for Interior Fit-Out plays a pivotal role in the construction and renovation industry, specializing in calculating and managing costs related to interior designs and modifications. This professional is tasked with evaluating the total cost of a project before it begins, ensuring that the financial blueprint aligns with the client's budget and expectations. By working closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients, the estimator provides detailed cost analyses and accurate financial predictions. This aids decision-making and helps in resource allocation, procurement planning, and timeline creation. A successful estimator must possess exceptional mathematical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a comprehensive understanding of interior construction processes.


Responsibilities
  • Analyze project proposals to determine scope and requirements for interior fit-out.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates incorporating materials, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Coordinate with architects and contractors to ensure project specifications align with estimates.
  • Review and evaluate project sites for potential cost modifications or savings.
  • Manage bid preparation and submission processes for potential projects.
  • Maintain a cost database and update pricing information accordingly to market trends.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify factors that may influence project costs.
  • Consult with clients to understand their budget constraints and expectations.
  • Track project progress and expenses to compare against initial estimates regularly.
  • Provide clear and comprehensive reports to stakeholders on estimated versus actual costs.
  • Assist in negotiations with vendors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field required.
  • Proven experience as an estimator, preferably in the interior fit-out industry.
  • Strong analytical abilities and excellent numerical skills essential for success.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel for cost calculations.
  • Effective communication skills to articulate cost analysis and project requirements.
  • Solid understanding of construction processes, materials, and industry practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and under pressure.
