The role of an Estimator for Interior Fit Out is critical in planning and managing the financial aspects of construction projects related to interior design and architecture. This position requires someone with a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work closely with architects, contractors, and clients. An Estimator must accurately predict the time, resources, and costs required for a project, ensuring that financial and technical specifications are met without compromising the quality or vision of the design. This job requires someone who is adept with numbers, possesses excellent negotiation skills, and can communicate efficiently with various stakeholders. An integral part of the role is to minimize financial risk while maintaining adherence to schedules and project specifications.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and interpret architectural drawings and specifications accurately to prepare cost estimates.
• Consult with clients, architects, and contractors to discuss and resolve budget discrepancies.
• Prepare detailed cost plans, bills of quantities, and pricing documents for tender submission.
• Coordinate with project managers to ensure estimates align with project scope and schedules.
• Identify factors affecting costs, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses.
• Develop and maintain a cost database for use in future projects and proposals.
• Provide timely updates and reports to senior management on project financial performance.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential cost and schedule overruns.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best prices and terms.
• Monitor changes to designs and construction work and adjust estimates accordingly.
• Collaborate with design teams to ensure project cost objectives are met effectively.
• Manage tender processes and evaluate bids to ensure compliance with requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years experience in estimating within the construction industry.
• Proficiency in estimation software and tools, such as Bluebeam and PlanSwift.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for accurate cost calculations.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and project teams.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
