Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Estimation & Quotation

· Analyze project drawings, specifications, and client requirements to prepare detailed estimates for fabrication projects.

· Develop accurate cost calculations for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.

· Prepare competitive and technically sound proposals and quotations for clients.

· Review and validate cost assumptions with design, procurement, and production teams.

2. Project & Design Coordination

· Collaborate with design and engineering teams to understand project scope, materials, and technical requirements.

· Provide input on design feasibility, material selection, and fabrication methods to optimize costs.

· Identify potential risks, challenges, and value engineering opportunities during the estimation phase.

3. Vendor & Material Management

· Liaise with suppliers and vendors to obtain competitive rates and accurate material specifications.

· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of material costs, labor rates, and fabrication techniques.

· Ensure estimates reflect market trends and regulatory requirements.

4. Reporting & Documentation

· Prepare detailed estimation reports, bills of quantities, and supporting documentation for management and clients.

· Maintain records of historical data, estimation templates, and lessons learned for future projects.

· Track project cost performance against estimates and provide feedback for continuous improvement.

5. Process Improvement & Compliance

· Contribute to the development and standardization of estimation procedures, tools, and templates.

· Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and industry regulations.

· Support senior management in strategic decision-making through accurate cost analysis.

Desired Candidate Profile

· Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.

· At least 6 years of experience in estimation within the steel industry.

· Proven experience working within the production department.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with expertise in analyzing complex data and deriving meaningful insights.

· In-depth knowledge of estimation methodologies and cost analysis techniques.

· Proficiency in using estimation software and tools.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

· Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to prioritize and manage tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

· Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and dependable estimates.
