Position Overview

Accor is seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead the maintenance and technical operations of its hotel property in Dubai. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the safety, efficiency, and optimal performance of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, life safety, and preventative maintenance. You will supervise the engineering team and oversee projects to maintain a world-class hospitality standard in compliance with Accor s operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the Engineering department, including supervision of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, water treatment, and life safety systems
* Plan and implement a property-wide preventive maintenance program
* Monitor equipment and infrastructure for safety, efficiency, and cost control
* Prepare and manage engineering budgets and control departmental expenditures
* Conduct inspections of property condition, furnishings, and mechanical systems
* Coordinate repair work, upgrades, and vendor management for engineering needs
* Maintain accurate logs, SOPs, safety standards, and compliance records
* Train, motivate, and evaluate engineering staff, ensuring emergency readiness
* Handle guest maintenance complaints with urgency and professionalism
* Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of technical staff
* Manage documentation for employee discipline, vacation balance, and HR compliance
* Drive technical training, including fire safety drills in coordination with security
* Collaborate with hotel operations for seamless maintenance support
* Contribute to new property openings and task force initiatives as required

Candidate Requirements

* Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline
* Minimum 3 years experience in engineering leadership within hospitality or facilities
* Strong technical understanding of building systems and maintenance planning
* Excellent communication, budgeting, and team management skills
* Proficient in engineering systems software and standard computer applications
* Demonstrated leadership in training, emergency planning, and operational readiness
* Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
* UAE experience preferred
