Job Purpose
To independently lead the engineering function and manage a team of multidiscipline engineers for various EPC Oil and Gas projects from enquiry stage to project execution stage.
Scope of work
Within the company requirements and client’s contractual agreement.

Strategic
- Provide guidance to engineering teams to meet Project objective.
Operational
- Manage technical interfaces with the client on all technical matters.
- Carry out technical coordination between the discipline departments.
- Verify that each discipline is executing its tasks on the basis of the contract to prevent rework.
- Ensure that the Lead Engineers have prepared a Discipline Quality and HSE Plan to define their organization, the responsibilities and the specific requirements for the respective discipline.
- Ensure that the client is informed about any deviation from contractual specification and contractual schedule.
- Manage interfaces with Lead Engineers to ensure that Engineering Progress is within the agreed schedule and that engineering support is provided where needed.
- Ensure that Lead Discipline Engineers are complying with all general specifications and applicable Codes, Standards, Guidelines and Procedures and amendments.
- Ensure that all changes announced by the client are communicated to the Discipline Lead Engineers.
- Ensure that the project Quality, Health, Safety, Environment, and Security requirements and procedures are followed by the engineering team.
- Ensure that progress reports are prepared and submitted on time to the client.
- Check the completeness of engineering packages before they’re transferred to the client.
- Ensure the technical quality of the documents produced by the designers.
- Anticipate and deal with all issues which might delay design performance.
- Take part in the preparation of the schedules for design activities by checking that chronological sequencing of tasks and interfaces is logical.
- Prepares and issues a Project Close out report (Feed-Back) covering engineering aspects (aligned with Engineering disciplines).
- Closely collaborate with the Project Manager, Procurement Manager, and Construction Manager to deliver cost efficient and fit-for-purpose engineering solution for the Project
- Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by engineering staff.
- Conduct quality assurance checks to verify the quality of completed engineering work.
- Implementing best practice engineering methods.
- Prepare and deliver engineering related presentations at project level, both internally and externally.
- Coordinate with the Client Engineering focal point for securing an early approval of the engineering deliverables.
- Monitor and ensure suitable coordination is maintained at the Lead Engineer level with Procurement Department and Vendors for best suitable Vendor selection.
- Active participation in project HSE workshops and involvement in close out reports.
- Provide engineering staffing forecast for project and participation in selection and interview process.
- Establish performance expectations (including KPIs) by providing inputs and proposing improvement solutions for project specific engineering policies, procedures and processes.
- Monitor engineering performance of the Project team by feedback from internal and external audits.
Financial
- Oversee engineering budgets and timelines.
- Find and implement ways to improve delivery and cost efficiency at Project level.
People & Communication
- Define the roles and responsibilities of the team members and evaluate their performance on a regular basis.
- Schedule weekly meetings with all members of the department to listen to them, discuss their challenges, resolve problems, and direct activities to remove roadblocks and achieve objectives.
- Organize the team and their daily activities and tasks while providing guidance on priorities.
- Train and transfer knowledge and skills to subordinates.
- Motivate and engage the team for better performance.
Business & Client Relationship
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure project expectations are met.
Decision Making Authorities
Managerial, supervising the work of subordinates and driving the engineering tasks of the project.

Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering.
Total experience of 15+ years of experience in managing engineering team for EPC oil and gas.
Proven experience in successfully leading large multi-disciplinary engineering team.
