Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Ensure Contractor deliver a complete Piping & Layout engineering deliverables during FEED.
- Ensure the achievement of assigned goals and the fulfillment of the project quality requirements and the contractual obligations.
- Check, review and appraise all piping & layout technical documents (specifications, calculation notes, drawings, etc.) developed by Contractor are in compliance with project scopes and requirements and identify potential risks to project if any.
- Manage Contractor s Piping and Layout disciplines resources and to ensure work completion on time.
- Depending on the design phase (FEED or Detailed Design), the role holder shall be responsible for coordinating and managing all 3D model reviews at the 30%, 60%, and 90% stages.
- This includes ensuring that all comments and issues raised during these reviews are properly recorded, tracked, and closed out in a timely manner to support the overall project schedule and design quality.
- Monitors and reports actual progress including SP3D model development to ensure Contractor completion of key milestones.
- Provide technical support to project and coordinate multi-discipline input on piping & layout deliverables.
- Participate in various project s workshop such as Plot Plan/Layouts, Constructability and 3D model reviews.
- Track and report of lessons learned in defined area of responsibility.
- The role holder shall be responsible for identifying, tracking, and implementing all improvements derived from lessons learned, particularly those related to existing plant sections as provided by the Operations Department.
- For the piping and layout disciplines, it will be the role holder's responsibility to ensure that such improvements are effectively incorporated into the design deliverables.
- Monitor Contractor progress.
- For the piping discipline, the role holder shall be accountable for monitoring and ensuring timely issuance of documents listed in the Master Document Register for all documents and deliverables produced by both the FEED and Contractors.
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 8 years experience in Engineering roles, including 4 years in the Oil & Gas Industry, and including 1 year experience in a supervisory or acting role, or oversight of contractor / subcontractors / service / vendor personnel.
- Experience with Oil & Gas Companies, contractors, subcontractors, vendors or service companies involved in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge and application of international engineering standards, specifications and design.
- SME level competency in Piping and Layout discipline.
- Experience with sour service gas and LNG facilities
- Experience in berth design and Seabed dredging is an advantage.
- Brownfield engineering and execution knowledge
- Knowledge of the major 3D modelling software
- Knowledge of piping material selection
- Fluent in written and oral English.
- Undertakes complex tasks and acts as a source of guidance for staff and internal customers. Is expected to manage all but the most complex problems and difficulties that might arise.
- Takes initiatives, based on experienced gained, to deliver timely and cost-effective service.
- Sets situations/issues in the context of the entire team and has an appreciation of the wider relationships with other people and organizations.
- Works independently within established procedures, plans and budgets and contributes to the development of these.
- Has autonomy over scheduling and planning of own work; organizes efforts of work group to achieve overall efficiency.
