Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

    • Strategy & Governance Engineering
  • Define and implement the vision, roadmap and investment strategy in engineering.
  • Establish and implement policies, standards and procedures in line with industry best practice.
  • • Develop performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the reliability, productivity, costs and sustainability of technical operations.
    • Asset Management & Maintenance Excellence
  • Oversee preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance programs for all strategic equipment (RTGs, MHCs, RS, ECH, etc.).
  • Ensure optimal asset availability and performance through rigorous planning and root cause analyses.
  • Optimize total cost of ownership (TCO) with a lifecycle approach and data-driven decision-making.
    • Planning, Performance & Budget
  • Set and achieve equipment performance objectives.
  • Optimize energy efficiency and ensure compliance with the targets set by management.
  • Prepare and monitor the annual budget and investment programs.
  • Control spending to stay within budget and ensure cost control per container.
  • Oversee the execution of CAPEX projects within approved timelines and budgets.
  • To ensure the integration of HSE (health, safety, environment) obligations into the department's strategic plans.
    • Security, Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure strict compliance with HSE, regulatory and industrial standards.
  • Oversee risk assessments, technical audits and critical incident investigations.
  • Maintain full compliance with local regulations, OEM standards, and industry certifications.
    • Leadership & D Team Development
  • To build and lead a high-performance and multidisciplinary engineering team.
  • Promote a culture of technical excellence, accountability and innovation.
  • Identify skills needs and set up appropriate training plans.
  • Work with HR on succession planning and knowledge transfer.
    • Collaboration & Stakeholder Relations
  • Collaborate closely with the Operations, Purchasing, Finance and HSE departments.
  • Act as a technical advisor to the general management and governance bodies.
  • Maintain strategic relationships with OEMs, suppliers and technology partners.

Formation

  • Engineer degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering.

  • Master's degree in engineering management, asset management or project management desired.

  • A professional certification (PE, CEng) is an asset.

Experiment

  • Minimum 12 15 years of experience in port handling equipment, including at least 7 years in a management position.

  • Solid experience in managing the maintenance of heavy assets on a large scale.

  • Confirmed career paths in the ports, terminals, logistics, industrial operations or infrastructure sectors.

  • Mastery of planning and budgeting systems (Maximo type).

  • Experience in project management, development and implementation of maintenance policies (mechanical, electrical, electronic).

Technical and digital skills

  • Master of CMMS systems, asset and project management tools.

  • Knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies, intelligent maintenance, RCM (Reliability-Centered Maintenance) and condition-based monitoring.

  • Expertise in engineering economics, budgeting, life cycle costs and investment planning.

Managerial skills

  • Strategic vision and capacity for systematic analysis.

  • Assertive leadership and decision-making in a complex context.

  • Influence with stakeholders and ability to align cross-functional functions.

  • Lev sense of ethics and integrity .
