Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive quality control plans and procedures for civil, mechanical, and structural engineering projects, ensuring adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction sites and fabrication facilities, meticulously examining materials, workmanship, and processes to identify and rectify any deviations from approved plans.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and submittals, verifying their accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant codes and regulations across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Manage and maintain all quality documentation, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective action plans, ensuring proper storage and accessibility for future reference.
- Investigate and resolve quality-related issues, including conducting root cause analysis and implementing effective solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of quality control measures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide training and guidance to project teams on quality control procedures, promoting a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of subcontractors and vendors, ensuring they meet the required quality standards and contractual obligations.
- Prepare and submit regular quality control reports to project stakeholders, highlighting key findings, trends, and recommendations for improvement.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to quality control in civil, mechanical, and structural engineering.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
- Holds relevant professional certifications, such as a P.E. license or a certified welding inspector (CWI) certification.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in quality assurance/quality control within the construction or engineering industry.
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations, including but not limited to ASTM, ACI, AISC, and ASME.
- Proficient in using quality control software and tools, such as inspection software, document management systems, and statistical analysis tools.
