Job Description: Elevator Technician
Position Title: Elevator & Escalator Technician
Company: Qumreya Operations and Maintenance (Exclusive Agency for Elite Rise)
Location: Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Reports to: Technical Manager / Lead Engineer
Employment Type: Full-Time
Key Responsibilities
Installation: Perform the complete installation of elevators, escalators, and moving walkways at various project sites, ensuring compliance with all technical specifications, safety standards, and Saudi Building Codes. This includes interpreting architectural and mechanical drawings, taking precise site measurements, and verifying dimensional compliance with design specifications.
Maintenance: Conduct routine preventive maintenance on all installed equipment, including inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and component replacements to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults in elevator and escalator systems in a timely and efficient manner.
Modernization: Participate in modernization projects to upgrade existing systems with new technology, enhancing performance, safety, and energy efficiency.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as local and national safety regulations. Conduct safety tests and inspections to ensure all systems are compliant.
Technical Documentation: Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals to understand equipment specifications and installation procedures. Perform site surveys and take precise measurements using standard measuring instruments (tape measures, laser distance meters, levels, plumb bobs) to verify building dimensions and ensure proper alignment and fit-up of equipment. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repair work, and site measurements performed.
Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients on-site, providing clear communication about the status of their equipment and any necessary repairs. Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
On-Call Service: Be available for on-call emergency service on a rotating basis to respond to equipment breakdowns and urgent repair needs.
Qualifications and Skills
Required Qualifications
Education: Diploma or technical degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Experience: A minimum of - years of hands-on experience as an elevator technician, with a proven track record in installation, maintenance, and repair.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems related to elevators and escalators. Familiarity with motor controls, PLCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and hydraulic systems.
Drawing Interpretation: Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings (blueprints, CAD drawings, and schematic diagrams). Ability to understand elevation views, section views, detail drawings, and dimensional annotations in accordance with standard drawing conventions.
Measurement and Dimensional Control: Demonstrated competency in taking precise measurements and performing site surveys using standard measuring instruments and tools. Ability to verify dimensional accuracy, ensure plumb and level alignment, and document measurements for compliance verification.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Saudi Building Codes (SBC), SASO standards, MOMRA requirements, and other relevant local regulations for vertical transportation systems. Understanding of safety codes and installation standards applicable to elevators and escalators.
Language Skills: Proficiency in Arabic is required. Basic proficiency in English (reading technical manuals and interpreting English-language drawings) is highly desirable.
Driving License: Must possess a valid Saudi Arabian driving license.
