About The Job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai within the Engineering Department in Dubai, the Electrical Technician will perform a wide range of duties, which may include the layout, installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, electronic and pneumatic equipment used in the commercial generation of electrical power and its distribution in the hotel. The Electrical Technician reports to Electrical Supervisor.

As a Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Perform daily inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and emergency systems.
• Diagnose and fix electrical faults in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces promptly and efficiently.
• Assist with the installation, upgrading, and testing of electrical fixtures, outlets, appliances, and control systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Adhere to all local electrical codes, hotel safety standards, and HACCP guidelines, ensuring safe and compliant operations at all times.
• Respond swiftly to electrical emergencies and power outages to minimize disruption to guests and hotel operations.
• Work closely with other engineering team members, maintain detailed records of work performed, and ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained.
  
  

As a Electrical Technician, We Expect From You

• Proven experience as Electrical Technician and/or years of experience as a journey-level electrician, including repair of electrical systems and equipment.
• Experience in electrical maintenance and repair of wastewater treatment, plant equipment or other related commercial equipment is highly desirable.
• High school diploma or GED and/or an associate's degree supplemented by specialized training in the electrical trades.
• Ability to work effectively alone and unassisted or as a member of a crew.
• Ability to work in wastewater treatment plant environment; with relative exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, gases, oils, toxic chemicals, and inclement weather conditions; work with water or in confined spaces.
