Roles & Responsibilities
The Electrical Procurement Manager plays a crucial role in managing the supply chain for electrical components and systems, ensuring that the necessary materials are sourced cost-effectively and on time to meet project needs. This involves strategic planning with a keen eye on market trends, vendor negotiations, and staying abreast of technological advancements in the electrical industry. As an Electrical Procurement Manager, you will work closely with engineering teams, project managers, and suppliers to drive procurement strategies that align with organizational goals. You are also responsible for developing strong relationships with vendors to ensure quality and delivery standards are met. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of electrical products and market dynamics.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to source electrical components effectively.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure best quality and pricing.
- Analyze market trends and track industry changes to anticipate supply chain challenges.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand project needs and specifications.
- Maintain a robust database of qualified suppliers for electrical products and services.
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive initiatives to optimize procurement processes.
- Prepare and manage purchasing budgets, ensuring expenditures align with company goals.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations in all procurement activities.
- Resolve any supply chain issues that arise, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Lead cross-functional teams in procurement-related projects and initiatives.
- Develop strong relationships with key suppliers to foster long-term partnerships.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of five years experience in procurement, preferably in the electrical sector.
- Strong understanding of electrical products, components, and market dynamics.
- Excellent negotiation skills with an ability to secure favorable supplier terms.
- Proven experience in strategic planning and implementation of procurement strategies.
- Strong analytical skills with an ability to analyze market trends and data.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for vendor and stakeholder interaction.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or equivalent preferred.
