Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Site Execution
- Supervise and execute all electrical installations including power distribution, lighting, UPS systems, DG sets, transformers, switchgear, and cable management systems.
- Coordinate with civil, HVAC, PHE/FF, and ELV teams to prevent clashes and ensure integrated execution.
- Ensure work progress aligns with project schedule and escalate delays or issues to the Project Manager.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all electrical works comply with project specifications, IEC, NEC, NFPA, and client standards.
- Conduct inspections and verify that installations meet approved drawings, shop drawings, and method statements.
- Monitor materials used, ensuring they are approved, certified, and stored/handled properly on site.
Testing & Commissioning
- Supervise pre-commissioning and commissioning of electrical systems including LV/MV panels, UPS, DG sets, and lighting systems.
- Witness and document tests such as insulation resistance tests, continuity tests, earth resistance tests, and functional checks.
- Coordinate with QA/QC and commissioning teams to ensure smooth system handover.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily progress reports, site instructions, and red-mark drawings.
- Ensure preparation and handover of As-Built drawings and O&M manuals from an electrical perspective.
- Document test reports, inspection records, and material certifications for client approval.
Material & Resource Management
- Plan and monitor manpower, tools, and materials required for electrical works.
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely delivery of electrical materials.
- Ensure safe storage, handling, and usage of electrical equipment on site.
Safety
- Enforce strict adherence to HSE guidelines during all electrical activities.
- Conduct safety briefings and ensure proper use of PPE, lockout/tagout procedures, and safe handling of high-voltage equipment.
Coordination
- Interface with Project Manager, QA/QC, and other discipline engineers for seamless execution.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives for inspections and approvals.
