Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Working closely with the Commercial, Operations, and Management teams, as well as brokers and key account customers, you will translate market intelligence and customer feedback into actionable strategies that support pipeline growth, operational alignment, and long-term profitability in the bulk and commodities shipping environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Establish key account area from data and portstatistics. Create ABC for targets if attention span with each key account customer.
- Establish target customers from data and port statistics to move ABC segmentation info profiability windows basis customer performance or opportunities.
- Send daily or weekly updates on the market situation to key accounts.
- Structure stakeholders overview (Africa offices and HQ) for alignment weekly on market trends and direction.
- Arrange and attend meetings with management and stakeholders from OBT and the key account customers.
- Follow operations with HQ or Africa Operations teams relevant to bulk cargoes where issues are happening and align expectations between customers and operations departments.
- Summarize meeting reports from customer visits and share to relevant stakeholders in OBT countries, sub-customers, OBT departments or verticals.
- Suggest changes based on customer feedback on relevant ideas and feedback.
- Grow target pipeline by reporting changes of weekly or monthly market changes to the Commercial Team.
- Retention growth on existing customers.
- Build and maintain relationships with brokers to understand market and customer opportunities. Build relationships with characters and other commodity tranders on small commodity segments.
Desired Candidate Profile
Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of dry vessel owner or port agency commercial roles
- Relevant academic background within the maritime industry
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of Sales Communication and stakeholder management skills
- Independent and able to work within budget and timeframe
- Attention to details
- Team player
- Knowledge on the transport or maritime industry is a plus
- Maritime experience
