Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Drilling & Workover Program

  • Prepare comprehensive drilling/workover programs for offshore operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate closely with Drilling Supervisors, Geologists, Petroleum & Reservoir Engineers to align operational objectives.
  • Collaborate with service contractors for well program preparation.
  • Ensure all programs comply with procedural, contractual, and legislative requirements.

2. Drilling & Workover Operations

  • Direct, inspect, and control drilling, workover, and related activities at well sites.
  • Support Drilling Supervisor in material, equipment, and services planning for scheduled programs.
  • Order, track, and verify materials/equipment from the onshore supply base, including consumption control during rig moves and operations.
  • Liaise with logistics teams for boat/helicopter scheduling.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials loaded/offloaded to supply boats.

3. Budgets & Contracts

  • Assist in finalizing contracts related to rig activities and evaluate potential bidders.
  • Monitor drilling costs, schedules, and well status; prepare reports accordingly.

4. Rig Move

  • Arrange rig moves in coordination with Marine Supervisor and Production Unit.
  • Oversee site surveys and ensure accurate rig positioning.

5. Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor rig operations progress, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Prepare End of Well Reports for submission to regulatory authorities.

6. Policies, Procedures & Continuous Improvement

  • Recommend process improvements to align with international best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all company and government procedural/legislative requirements.

7. Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE)

  • Guarantee compliance with QHSE standards and statutory requirements.
  • Lead accident investigations and recommend preventive measures.

8. Reporting

  • Prepare timely and accurate operational and technical reports to meet company requirements.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Drilling Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in offshore Abu Dhabi drilling engineering/operations on H₂S wells with jack-up rigs.
  • Proven expertise in coiled tubing operations.
  • Strong background in well program development, workover planning, and post-well reporting.
  • Excellent coordination skills with service providers and logistics teams.
  • Experience in bid preparation and technical evaluation of drilling-related services.
  • Strong safety leadership and risk management skills.
