Roles & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will produce high-quality 2D and 3D drawings for water treatment systems, supporting projects across the Middle East, UK, and Europe. This role is critical to the design and delivery of EPC projects and requires hands-on experience with Revit and AutoCAD, along with strong mechanical and plumbing system knowledge.

You’ll work within a small, collaborative team to develop layouts, P&IDs, equipment arrangements, and fully coordinated BIM models for complex water treatment installations.

Key Responsibilities

· Create 2D and 3D mechanical and hydraulic drawings in AutoCAD and Revit

· Develop P&IDs from scratch, aligned to process engineering requirements

· Model plantrooms, pipework, skids, valves, tanks, and fittings in Revit

· Produce detailed layout drawings, including mechanical room plans, equipment access routes, and pipe routing

· Prepare equipment arrangement (GA) drawings with maintenance and operability in mind

· Generate pipework isometric drawings and spool sheets for fabrication and installation

· Perform clash detection and coordination between mechanical, structural, and electrical elements

· Support BIM Level 2+ workflows, ensuring models conform to company or project standards

· Extract and tag Bills of Materials (BOMs) from models and drawings where required

· Maintain drawing registers, revisions, and issue records in line with internal QA processes

· Update redline drawings and produce as-built drawing packs post-installation

· Attend occasional site visits to gather mark-ups, verify site conditions, or support installation teams

· Support proposal and submittal documentation with well-annotated drawings

· Coordinate with internal engineering teams and external consultants to ensure design integration

Requirements

Desirable

· Prior experience at an MEP contractor or water treatment company

· Familiarity with Navisworks, BIM 360, or similar tools

· Understanding of regional design standards (e.g. DEWA, DM, BS/EN norms)

· Exposure to fabrication detailing and MEP installation drawings

· Experience working to BIM standards (ISO 19650, BS 1192)

Desired Candidate Profile

3–5 years’ experience in a Draughtsman or BIM Technician role, ideally within water treatment or building services

· Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, including 3D modelling, family creation, and project coordination

· Ability to produce P&IDs independently

· Solid understanding of plumbing and mechanical systems

· Experience preparing plant layout, hydraulic, and equipment arrangement drawings

· Familiarity with clash detection, BIM model structuring, and coordinated design environments

· Strong attention to detail and adherence to drawing standards

· Willingness to attend site visits

· Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
