Director, Equity Investments First Abu Dhabi Bank FAB

Responsibilities

Assist the portfolio manager by providing industry insight, bottom-up fundamental research and actionable stock recommendations using expertise to positively impact performance of the bank’s equity investments.                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Conduct primary and secondary research. 

Perform complex financial modelling and valuation.

Assist in developing investment strategies and build asset-allocation models to maximize performance and manage risk.

Assist in developing hedging strategies and apply knowledge of equity derivative instruments.

Generate periodic reports on portfolio performance/ return attribution analysis/ benchmarking.   

Daily monitoring of portfolio holdings for corporate actions and relevant events; liaise with back office and risk management teams. 

Preparing material for presentation of investment opportunities and regular updates to management other GM teams.

Develop and sustain frequent contacts with management teams and industry sources utilizing company/industry publications, sell-side analysts, etc to drive insights.

Assist with daily trading execution and documentation.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification

A generalist with experience in MENA and international markets (mainly US and Europe).

Solid quantitative and qualitative analytical skills and strong excel modelling skills.

Solid understanding of equity derivatives (using Options/ Futures).

Proven interpersonal skills with ability to work as part of a team and enjoy contributing in a cooperative and entrepreneurial environment.

Strong communication skills - able to communicate clearly and succinctly, both verbally and in writing.

Capable of developing independent opinion and defending own views. 

Experience using Bloomberg.

Advanced Excel skills.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Post Graduate Degree in a relevant discipline. A CFA is highly desirable.

Arabic speaking is a plus, but not necessary. 

Minimum Experience

3 to 5 years of related experience in equity research with a top Tier firm (Buy-side or Sell-side).
