Roles & Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Management: Guide, mentor, and empower engineering and design teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Design Oversight: Supervise the creation of technical drawings, schematics, and documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project specifications.
Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and oversight on aspects like plant layout, piping, system processes, and electrical/control works for various power generation types (e.g., renewable, nuclear, fossil fuel).
Project & Risk Management: Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets, identifying and mitigating technical and safety risks to prevent errors and financial losses.
Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs and documentation comply with relevant industry codes (e.g., IEC, IEEE), safety guidelines, building codes, and client standards.
Collaboration & Coordination: Liaise with project managers, procurement, construction teams, and clients to ensure seamless project execution and successful design delivery.
Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality checks and approval procedures for all design deliverables, including design reviews and internal checks.
Innovation & Optimization: Identify opportunities for design optimization, cost efficiency, and improved energy efficiency and reliability through the use of new technologies and best practices.
Documentation: Oversee the preparation of technical specifications, permits, and supporting documentation required for approvals.
Lead and mentor a team of designers, fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration to drive innovative design solutions.
Develop and maintain design guidelines and best practices that align with brand strategy and enhance user experience.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and engineering, to ensure design feasibility and alignment with project goals.
Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and validate concepts, ensuring a user-centric approach.
Oversee the design process from concept to execution, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality design assets.
Manage project timelines and resources effectively, balancing multiple projects while maintaining design integrity and team morale.
Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders, incorporating feedback to refine ideas and gain buy-in.
Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to inspire innovative design thinking and maintain competitive advantage.
Facilitate design critiques and provide constructive feedback to team members, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Establish performance metrics to evaluate design effectiveness and drive data-informed design strategies.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor’s degree in Design, Fine Arts, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred for advanced knowledge.
