Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Review clinical documentation for day case encounters and assign appropriate ICD-10-AM and CPT codes.

Ensure coding accuracy, completeness, and compliance with UAE coding and billing standards.

Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and CDI teams to clarify documentation when needed.

Validate coded data before claim submission to minimize rejections or denials.

Support the Revenue Cycle and Billing teams in ensuring claim accuracy.

Maintain detailed coding records and ensure data confidentiality.

Keep updated on health authority (DOH) guidelines and payer coding policies.

Participate in coding audits and implement feedback for continuous improvement.

Assist in training junior coders and sharing coding updates as required.

Collaborate with the Denial Management team to resolve coding-related rejections.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s degree in Health Information Management, Medical Records, or a related field.

  • 2 4 years of experience as a Medical Coder, specifically in Day Case coding within a UAE hospital or healthcare organization.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE healthcare billing and payer requirements.
  • Valid CPC, CCS, or equivalent coding certification (mandatory).
  • DOH/DHA/MOH license or eligibility preferred.
  • Proficient in ICD-10-AM and CPT coding systems.
  • Experience using EMR systems (Cerner, Medisys, Oracle, etc.) and e-claim platforms.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
  • Proficient in English; Arabic is an advantage.
