Roles & Responsibilities

Redstone Commodity Search is working with a leading international commodities trading firm seeking to hire a Data Engineer / Analyst to support their global trading activities from Dubai. The role will sit within a newly established analytical department, providing data infrastructure, reporting, and modelling support to traders and senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the company s data systems and databases, ensuring accurate daily input/output, upgrades, and feature enhancements.
  • Provide timely data support for physical and derivatives trading strategies, including market data acquisition and integration.
  • Develop and maintain market analysis and reporting tools for traders and management.
  • Build quantitative models to assess risk, profitability, and market opportunities.
  • Collaborate with traders and analysts to support strategy development and ad-hoc decision-making needs.
  • Engage with data vendors and external partners to ensure the robustness and quality of datasets.

Desired Candidate Profile

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree or higher in data/computer science, mathematics, engineering, or related fields.
  • 3 5 years of experience in a data engineering or analyst role, ideally in commodities or financial markets.
  • Strong technical skills in SQL (database structures, queries, table operations) and fluency in Python with clean coding practices.
  • Proven experience working with financial or market data, with solid statistical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to take ownership of data infrastructure and confidently enhance or maintain existing Python APIs.
  • Strong communication skills, structured planning ability, and adaptability to fast-paced trading environments.
