Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
As a Data Center Technician, you will play an instrumental role in ensuring the seamless operation of data center facilities. This encompasses the management, maintenance, and troubleshooting of both hardware and software systems essential for data center functionality. Your role is critical in minimizing downtime and ensuring the availability of services to clients and end-users. You will work closely with engineers and IT specialists to meet organizational technology demands and uphold the highest standards of performance and security. Expertise in network systems, problem-solving, and a keen eye for detail are essential as you support a dynamic and high-performance technological infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of data center infrastructure and systems.
- Monitor and respond to issues related to server and network uptime.
- Conduct routine checks and inspections to ensure equipment performance and safety.
- Install, configure, and upgrade hardware components and software as needed.
- Collaborate with IT teams to effectively manage data center resources and planning.
- Manage and document hardware inventory, keeping track of equipment lifecycle.
- Provide timely support and resolution to any technical problems that arise.
- Implement and maintain backup and recovery procedures to protect data integrity.
- Ensure compliance with data security policies and industry regulations.
- Assist in capacity planning and optimization to improve system and network efficiency.
- Support the setup and testing of new systems or technology deployments.
- Document all procedures, tasks, and solutions for future reference and audits.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Center Technician or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of network, storage, and server hardware and software.
- Familiarity with data center management tools and environmental monitoring systems.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work shifts and manage on-call responsibilities if required.
- Effective communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical teams.
