Responsibilities

• Perform sterilization of medical instruments using autoclave machines and other technologies.
• Ensure that all surgical equipment is clean, functional, and ready for use during procedures.
• Inspect sterilized instruments and equipment for any defects or contamination.
• Properly label and organize sterilized items according to hospital protocols.
• Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting of sterilization equipment as needed.
• Monitor and record all sterilization processes to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Maintain an inventory of surgical instruments and restock as necessary to avoid shortages.
• Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines to prevent cross-contamination.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to meet specific sterilization needs for procedures.
• Document and report any incidents or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.
• Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance sterilization skills.
• Assist in emergency sterilization needs and rapid turnaround situations as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification in sterile processing preferred.
• Previous experience working as a CSSD Technician or in a similar role is desirable.
• Thorough understanding of sterilization methods and infection control principles.
• Ability to handle and operate complex sterilization equipment confidently.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting.
