Desired Candidate Profile

Key Accountabilities

1. Cost Control Plan

Develop, integrate and implement cost management plans as part of the overall project plans, in terms of project estimates, man-hour estimates, and project schedules into cost-management baselines for efficient and effective control of the projects under consideration.

2. Compliance

•Monitor and validate accuracy of committed/spent funds, project deviation notices, field change orders, and project execution changes to maintain cost–related records incompliance with operational procedures and regulations.

•Monitor and report deviations between forecasted budgets and actual expenditure through applying cost management practices to ascertain critical cost issues and recommending corrective actions.

3. Benchmarking

•Regularly benchmark the critical cost related items within the shutdown/project plan, to ensure that the shutdown/projects are competitively and efficiently run.

•Provide consultation on accounting/procurement related strategies, as and when required, to the shutdown/project team, to support cost management initiatives, along with flagging any potential project cost over-runs.

4. Claims Management

•Review, assess, analyze, and report claims of the contractors and internal service providers during to align with the contract’s financial terms and conditions for optimum utilization and control of projects budgets.

•Develop the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) in SAP for non-engineering projects to allow an accurate and correct settlement of cost elements for the desired cost center.

5. Management Reporting

•Prepare periodic reports of the shutdown/project cost estimation / cost control status in terms of commitment, actual spending and forecasts against the approved budgets.

•Maintain necessary cost records for the shutdown/project committee, by coordinating with the team and finance department, and prepare the final reports to ensure that the data is accurately presented.

6. Continuous improvement

Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of shutdown/project cost control systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

7. EH&S Focus

Comply with all relevant health, safety, security and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude.

Experience:

•Strong experience with SAP

•Strong experience in projects and maintenance shutdowns
